Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 17, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Belong website, applications, and services (the "Service") operated by Eric Gomez, trading as "Belong" ("Belong", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

The Service is provided by Eric Gomez, an individual sole proprietor. You are contracting directly with Eric Gomez. If you have questions, contact us at the support email listed on the site.

2. Eligibility & authority

You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction (or have a parent/guardian agree on your behalf). If you accept these Terms on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

3. The Service

Belong helps students discover colleges that fit their personality, goals, and academic profile, and produces personalized reports for students and parents. Recommendations are informational and are not a guarantee of admission, financial aid, or outcomes.

4. Acceptable use & prohibited activities

To ensure the integrity, security, and fairness of Belong, you agree that you will not, under any circumstances, engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Abusing the free tier: Attempting to circumvent pricing limits, subscription models, or free access restrictions, including by creating or maintaining multiple accounts to generate multiple free reports or assessments.
  • Data scraping & extraction: Scraping, crawling, harvesting, downloading, extracting, or copying any data, content, college-matching algorithms, database records, recommendations, or proprietary intelligence from the Service, whether manually or through automated tools, bots, or scripts.
  • Illegal & harmful use: Using the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose, or in a manner that violates any applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.
  • Reverse engineering: Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, translate, or extract the source code, underlying AI models, prompt structures, algorithms, or systems powering Belong.
  • System interference: Interfering with, disrupting, or attempting to compromise the security, integrity, or proper functioning of the Service, including probing, scanning, testing vulnerabilities, deploying malware, or attempting to bypass any system access or technical limits.
  • IP infringement: Using the Service to infringe upon the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other personal/proprietary rights of Eric Gomez, Belong, or any third party.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Please provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

6. Intellectual property

Belong, including its software, content, branding, and reports we generate, is owned by Eric Gomez and protected by applicable IP laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service and your personalized reports for your own personal, non-commercial educational planning.

7. User content

You retain ownership of information you submit (e.g. quiz answers, stats). You grant us a limited license to host and process it solely to provide and improve the Service.

8. Payment, billing, refunds & cancellations

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, taxes, cancellations, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Our own refund window and instructions are set out in our Refund Policy.

9. Service availability

We work hard to keep the Service running but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

10. Warranties & disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. College recommendations are informational only and are not professional admissions, financial, legal, or tax advice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Eric Gomez harmless from claims arising out of your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated/serious policy violations. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. You may export your personalized report before your account is closed by contacting support.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

16. Assignment & miscellaneous

You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Neither party is responsible for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control (force majeure). If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
